It is based on cooperation between the Triglav National Park Public Institute, Tourism Bohinj and the Municipality of Bohinj, with the aim of improving nature conservation, ensuring a safer and higher-quality visitor experience, and reducing traffic pressure on the local environment.  <\/p>\n<p>On 24 July 2026, the partners signed a stewardship agreement for the natural value <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bohinj.si\/slap-savica\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Savica \u2013 Waterfall.<\/a><\/strong> This is the first agreement of its kind in Triglav National Park. The new system also includes the reintroduction of an admission fee, in accordance with the Nature Conservation Act. The funds collected are earmarked and will be used for the management and protection of the natural value, trail maintenance, visitor safety and measures in the surrounding area. Information on how the funds are used will be published annually.     <\/p>\n<p>Services at the entrance point are provided by an operator selected through a public procurement procedure \u2013 the Bohinj Tourist Association, which has maintained the Savica area since 1951 and collected admission fees since 1956. Ticket sales are carried out on behalf of Tourism Bohinj, while the association also provides maintenance, cleaning and general management of the area. This means that the on-site work remains in local hands.  <\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>ADMISSION TO SAVICA WATERFALL<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>From 1 August 2026: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>visitors aged 16 and over: EUR 4, <\/li>\n<li>visitors under the age of 16: free admission,<\/li>\n<li>the first Sunday of every month: free admission for everyone,<\/li>\n<li>a group discount is available for organised groups,<\/li>\n<li>admission is included for holders of the Julian Alps: Bohinj Card.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Entrance point opening hours<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>August and September: 8:00\u201319:00,<\/li>\n<li>October: 9:00\u201317:00,<\/li>\n<li>November and December: 9:00\u201316:00.<\/li>\n<li>Access may be closed for safety reasons in the event of heavy rain, storms, snowfall, icy conditions, high water levels or a risk of falling rocks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>HOW TO GET TO SAVICA WATERFALL<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>By bus<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>During the summer season, a daily bus service operates between Bohinjska Bistrica and Savica Waterfall until 31 August 2026. <\/li>\n<li>The service is part of Arriva\u2019s summer regular public bus network and fares are charged according to the operator\u2019s price list: <a href=\"https:\/\/arriva.si\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Arriva.si<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Visitors are advised to check the current timetable and any service changes before travelling.<\/li>\n<li>We particularly recommend travelling by bus during peak visiting times, when the number of available parking spaces near the waterfall is limited.<\/li>\n<li>You can also leave your car at one of the car parks in Bohinjska Bistrica and continue your journey by bus.<\/li>\n<li>Another option is to travel to Ukanc using an organised transport service, line 1, or a regular public bus service operated by Arriva, and continue to the waterfall on foot.<\/li>\n<li>Further information about organised transport services: <a href=\"https:\/\/promet.bohinj.si\/en\/organised-transport\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TRANSPORT IN BOHINJ<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>By car<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The paid P9 Savica Waterfall car park is located at the starting point of the walking trail to the waterfall: vehicles up to 2 metres high, up to 3 hours: EUR 7, all-day parking: EUR 15.<\/li>\n<li>The parking fee is charged separately from the admission fee for the waterfall.<\/li>\n<li>Park only in designated parking spaces and check parking availability before setting off.<\/li>\n<li>When the car park is busy, use one of the car parks in Bohinjska Bistrica and continue by bus.<\/li>\n<li>PLEASE NOTE: Parking of campervans at P9 or drive on the Ukanc\u2013Savica Waterfall road between 1.  7. and 31. 8. is not permited.<\/li>\n<li>The car park is equipped with barriers, and payment is possible by card only.
