Current conditions in Bohinj – December

ANNOUNCEMENT – SKI BUS:

If snow conditions are favorable, the SKI BUS will start operating on the 25th 12. 2025. It will drive to Vogel, Soriška planina, and Pokljuka. The ski bus will run several times a day every day to Vogel, and on weekends, holidays, and every day during school holidays to Soriška planina and Pokljuka. To use the bus, you must have a Julian Alps Card: Bohinj (basic or premium), a Bohinjc ticket, a Slovenian Railways voucher (BohinjSKI train package), or a Bohinj 24-hour ticket. It is not possible to purchase a Bohinj 24-hour ticket for the SKI BUS on the bus.

From 30. 9. The Jesenice railway junction and station are undergoing renovation in 2025. During this time, occasional train delays are possible due to slow driving past the construction site or the closure of individual tracks. We would like to inform passengers that from January 5 to January 9 and from January 12 to January 16, trains No. 853, 854, 857, and 858 will run on a shortened route between Bohinjska Bistrica and Podbrdo and vice versa due to maintenance work on the track.
Due to works on the Grahovo – Most na Soči line, replacement transport will be organized according to an adjusted timetable for the trains mentioned in the link above from January 5 to January 9 and from January 12 to January 16.

PARKING AND TRAFFIC REGIME IN BOHINJ

Parking is only allowed in designated parking spaces!
Parking is not allowed everywhere else, including on regional roads, and is sanctioned by the traffic police (Inter-municipal Inspectorate and Traffic Wards of the municipalities of Bled, Bohinj and Železniki).

THE NEW BLED-BOHINJ CYCLE ROUTE IS NOT YET IN USE!

We would like to inform you that the construction works on the new Bohinj-Bled cycle route are still ongoing and the route is still a construction site.
Staying in the area of the construction site and machinery is strictly forbidden and, above all, dangerous.

ALWAYS PUT SAFETY FIRST IN THE MOUNTAINS!

Plan your tour carefully
Should be suitable for your psycho-physical abilities
Ensure appropriate equipment and clothing (winter gear, crampons, ice axe, avalanche kit…)
Tourist information officers inform your guests about the difficulty of Slovenian mountains in winter conditions
Include licensed mountaineering and mountain guides in your tours
Always keep your mobile phone with a full battery, let your family know where you are and when you’ll be back
Only go to the mountains when you are 100% HEALTHY
Whatever the season, there are three golden rules for hiking and mountaineering: the right equipment, the right destination and good information (weather, closed trails, etc.). And, of course, all the other tips for staying safe in the mountains. Let safety always come first!!
Don’t let your exploit become one of the heartbreaking stories of this year’s heavily overworked mountain rescuers. (in Slovene language, you need translator to read those stories).
