Yes. You must buy a packing slip at all car parks with parking machines. A parking ticket is valid only in the car park where it was purchased.

Yes. The parking machine will recalculate the parking time according to the amount paid and the parking price in the car park.

For example: if you pay €1.5 in a parking machine in a car park with a price of €3/hour, you will receive a parking ticket with a parking ticket for half an hour.

No. The Julian Alps Bohinj card does not include a fee for using the Voje-Vogar-Planina Blato forest road. It also offers a number of other benefits, which you can find out more about here.

In the event of an offence (incorrect parking, unpaid parking fees, overstaying the parking time...) for which you have received a parking ticket, you can pay the ticket at the post office, at a bank or via your online bank.

You can also pay the payment order at the Municipality of Bohinj during office hours:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 8. – 15. hours
  • Wednesday: 8. – 17. hours
  • Friday: 8. – 13. hours

Parking for disabled persons is free in designated parking spaces.

Disabled persons with a certificate will receive a free parking card for using the gated car parks at the Municipality of Bohinj.

Parking is free of charge for motorcyclists in car parks managed by the Municipality of Bohinj.

Parking at car park P9 Ukanc-slap Savica is € 2 (up to 3 hours) and € 5 (per day).

Personal vehicles

Affordable multi-day parking for cars is available at:

  • P23 (Kobla) at Bohinjska Bistrica and
  • P14 (Senožeta) in Srednji Vas.

Motorhomes and caravans

Motorhomes and other caravans can be parked for several days (if NOT used for overnight stays) at:

  • car park P23 (Kobla) at Bohinjska Bistrica (lower plateau),
  • P14 (Senožeta) in Srednja Vas and
  • at the caravan park (next to the train station) in Bohinjska Bistrica.

Overnight stays in caravans and other motorhomes are only allowed:

  • Camp Danica,
  • Camp Bohinj,
  • Camp Soriška Planina,
  • at the caravan park (next to the train station) in Bohinjska Bistrica,
  • at car park P23 (Kobla) in Bohinjska Bistrica (max. 12 h ) and
  • at car park P14 (Senožeta) in Srednji Vas (max. 24 h ).

As a contribution to sustainable mobility, we offer the use of car parks in Bohinj, from which a shuttle service is organised during the summer season. There are 3 car parks (P+R) where you can park your car and use the organised transport: P13, P14 and P23.

Caravans are not allowed on forest roads (including the Voje-Vogar-Blato forest road).

ATTENTION! From 1 July to 31 August, caravans and camping trailers are not allowed on the road from the crossroads in Ukanec to the car park under the Savica waterfall.

Buses are allowed to park in the following public car parks:
  • Parking P23 Bohinjska Bistrica (Kobla)
  • Parking P2 Ribčev Laz (behind Jezero Hotel)
  • Parking P6 Ukanc (crossroad),
  • Parking P17 Stara Fužina (St Paul's Church),
  • Parking P12 Rudno Polje (Pokljuka),
  • Parking P9 Waterfall Savica.
Parking is only allowed in bus parking areas (marked with the relevant traffic signs).
Parking on state, municipal, forest roads and other areas is not allowed.
Bus stops are allowed for a maximum of 5 minutes for passengers to get on and off the bus. Stopping on national and municipal roads (e.g. at the pier for the Panorama Boat, at the Church of St. John the Baptist, etc.) is not allowed.
  • For visitors to the Vogel, there is free parking for coaches at the lower cable car station.
  • For visitors to the Oplen House in Studor, there is free parking for buses at Studor Bus Station.
Please note: The national roads from Ukanc to the Savica waterfall, through the Upper Bohinj valley, to Pokljuka and to the Soriška planina are narrow and winding.

Buses are not allowed on forest roads and some municipal roads (marked with traffic signs).

Parking controls, regulations

The Inter-Municipal Inspectorate of the municipalities of Bled, Bohinj and Železniki supervises the correct use of car parks.

In accordance with the regulations, the municipal order enforcement officers ensure safe and unhindered road traffic, public safety and public order.
